What is a Golf A Thon?
A Golf-A-Thon is a unique twist to the traditional golf tournament. Unlike most tournaments, there is no entry fee or mandatory cost to the golfer. Where you would normally play 18 holes, the golfer attempts to play 100 holes! Golfers play in groups of 2 or 3. All golfers commit to raising a MINIMUM OF $2,500 EACH. This is where YOU COME IN! We ask and hope, you will find a Bartlett School of choice or a golfer of choice, CLICK, and donate as your heart leads. The teachers are limited to the funds of Bartlett Schools System. The Bartlett Education Foundation
The Bartlett Education Foundation was formed in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization with the mission
“To promote academic excellence within the Bartlett City Schools System by providing educational opportunities over and above that which is provided by the regular school budget."
The mission is accomplished through a Grant Program available to all teachers in the Bartlett area public schools each year. These grants are used to carry out innovative projects that enrich the standard curriculum in ways that directly affect students’ day-to-day classroom experiences as well as improve the education system as a whole.
Grants are awarded each fall, with the main criteria of enhancing the classroom experiences that directly involve students, motivational learning, hands-on learning, and the number of students served by the grant. Grant money is provided through various fund raising activities and corporate donations.
A Board of Directors administers the Foundation and is made up of business and community leaders who volunteer their time, talents and resources. It is a working board managing the fundraising arm of the organization.
