6th Annual Co-op Food Stores Charity Golf Tournament

Proceeds to benefit:

The Hanover Cooperative Community Fund

In 2001, the Co-op’s Board of Directors founded the Hanover Cooperative Community Fund (HCCF). The vision was to create a charitable foundation, in partnership with the Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation, which would stimulate cooperative enterprise regionally and make donations locally to community non-profits. To date, more than $428,000 has been raised by HCCF, and every dollar invested leverages another $10 in additional financing, says David Thompson, cooperative activist and president of the Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation. All the money in the HCCF is invested in cooperative business in New England through the Cooperative Fund of New England, Equal Exchange, ICA LEAF Fund, and the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund. Thompson says, “It is fair to state that dollars donated to HCCF touch every cooperative project funded by these organizations!”

Cooperative Home Ownership

More than 100 mobile home parks have been converted to cooperatively owned parks in the last decade in New Hampshire. Many of these conversions used funds from the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, which the Co-op supports through the HCCF.

Good Food Choices Along the Connecticut River

With help from the Cooperative Loan Fund of New England -- also supported by funds from HCCF -- there are new and growing co-op food stores from Littleton, NH to Greenfield, MA. Like many small businesses, they’re bright spots in our regional economy!

HCCF 2016 Donations

In addition, the annual interest earned on the endowment fund is returned to the Hanover Co-op for distribution to area non-profits. In 2016, $10,300 was disbursed to the following groups

Mascoma Cooperative Preschool

LISTEN Community Services

Grafton County Senior Citizens Council

Second Growth

Green Mountain Children’s Center

The annual charity golf tournament is one of our most popular and important fund-raising events. Thank you so much for your generous support -- and have fun raising funds! We appreciate your support of this great event.
