The JC40 FOR THE KIDS event will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 from 1pm to 5pm at Chart House Annapolis, and is a family friendly afternoon gathering to “Celebrate With Purpose” and fundraise for programs that benefit critically ill and terminally ill children and their families.

As always, our JC40 event is being held in memory of Jess Carson of Annapolis, MD, who was a passenger, killed in a tragic car accident on May 1, 2001. He was just 22 years old. Today we will celebrate everything Jess, and the accomplishments of the Jess Carson Foundation in his memory, as he would have turned 40 years old this year.

The Jess Carson Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 Charity located in Annapolis, Maryland. Devastated by our loss, The JCF was founded by friends and family of Jess Carson who wish to continue Jess’ compassionate spirit and generous heart by aiding critically ill and terminally ill children and their families.

To date we have raised over $250,000 for programs that benefit critically and terminally ill children and their families. We are very proud to have been an integral part of initiating and launching the following pediatric programs which continue to help critically ill children on their difficult journeys:

- Chesapeake Kid Pediatric Hospice Program in AA County (an extension of Hospice of the Chesapeake)

- The TeleCare Project used in the Chesapeake Kids Pediatric Hospice program to keep parents and hospice professionals connected 24 hours a day.

- The Jess Carson Pediatric Critical Care Training Program at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

The Jess Carson Foundation also has donated over $80,000 for hospital rooms both at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapoolis, and Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  These rooms include:

- Room P2-206, for four NICU infants in the Neonatal Transitional Care Center of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, MD

- A Teen Recreation Area at Mt. Washington for long-term care teens

It is the mission of The JCF to offer hope for each new tomorrow by supporting charitable, medical, educational, and recreational programs that fulfill the special needs and interests of the families facing the difficult challenges of caring for a child with a critical illness.

It is our goal to support programs that offer the highest impact, for as many children and families possible and which will continue with long-term results reaching far into future years. Our hope is that through the services we provide, another family will never endure the devastating loss of a child. It is our mission to offer light for a brighter tomorrow to the children and their families, and enable a future full of beautiful memories.
