Our Mission
Help Minnesota women veterans and their families who are homeless or in crisis through the nationally recognized programs provided by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).

Our Strategy
Bring together women and men alike to honor all Minnesota women veterans-wives, sisters, daughters, mothers and fellow servicepersons--with a day of ceremony, camaraderie and fun.  Funds raised will support the women veterans and families with transitional housing needs through MACV.

Our Focus

This year’s event is raising awareness and funds to assist individual women veterans and veterans’ families with transitional housing as they move from homelessness to stable permanent housing. During their time of need and with the support of a MACV case manager, transitional housing will allow the veteran to find quality employment, upgrade her skills, take care of legal issues through the MACV Vetlaw program, and/or get the medical help necessary to get her and her family into a stable environment.

Unfortunately, transitional housing for veterans and their families is either inadequate or non-existent. Often families with two parents have to split up and go to gender specific shelters each night or they are housed in a hotel room where there are no cooking facilities. By providing transitional housing that is more like a home, the veteran has the chance to address ongoing needs and their children have a more stable environment to make them feel safe. MACV’s nationally recognized programs have a proven record for reducing homelessness among veterans in Minnesota. Just a small sacrifice on our part can do so much to help these veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much for us.

Our Story
Since 1941, nearly two million women have served in many different defense roles…
More than 500,000 women have served in combat theatre of operations.

Today, about ten percent of our nation's veterans are women. That number will continue to grow as women make up over fourteen percent of today's military force. We wanted to organize an annual event to honor the Minnesota women who served.

Over the past three years, this tournament has raised nearly $50,000 to help women veterans.

100% of the proceeds directly benefit women veterans who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. These funds go to women's programs at Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans - a 501(c)3 organization (www.mac-v.org).
