We are excited to announce the

2019 Ralph Holland Jr Memorial Golf Tournament and Dinner

This event will support the Digital Media Pathway at Beaverton High and provide critical industry standard equipment for students to gain employable technical skills.

The Digital Media pathway provides many opportunities for students to be prepared for and excited about a career in the multimedia and design field. What students gain through taking these courses and utilizing industry standard equipment include:

- Producing the school magazine, DAM Mag

- Showcase student work to build their portfolio. You can see current work on the BHS Digital Media website: http://beavertonhighdigitalmedia.weebly.com

- Gaining highly technical skills that relate to high wage, high demand jobs in graphic design, digital photography, video editing, web design to name a few.

- Collaborate with industry partners including local advertising agencies (Swift, Wieden and Kennedy to name a couple) as well as:

- Discuss how to gain employable skills from professionals in the field through a guest speaker workshop / series. This includes, Aaron Draplin, Capes and Crowns, and Lincoln Design .

- Work closely with local business partners to create advertising materials (AVA Roasteria, Beaverton PAL, Murray Hill Coffee Company, Lanphere Auto group, Andersen Construction, Eola Hills Winery).

- Engage students that would otherwise be disengaged, as evidenced through DAM Magazine.

- Allow students to explore and teach themselves technical skills that interest them.

- Build a professional website and portfolio to show future colleges and employers.

- Take the Adobe Certification Exam to become certified in a specific program and place the level of expertise on a students resume.

- Create tangible products to showcase their design (i.e., package design, button making, vinyl designs to be placed on apparel, stickers, and DAM mag)

The goal of our pathway is to provide skills that allow students to be employable directly after high school if they wish. They can develop their portfolios, have a set of soft skills to work with people in industry, and understand how to find answers to questions on their own.

If you do not golf...please attend the dinner and auction.  Golfers spouses/partners can attend free this year.  There is already a large group that just want to be there for the after party!  I hope you join us!
